1950 Currency World Map by Natalie Dowling
1950 Currency, Map Art by Natalie Dowling printed on Giclée Hahnemühle Pearl.
This map shows the currency in circulation in every country, colony and protectorate of the world in 1950. Some countries did not have banknotes issued, instead relying on coins. The relatively recent end of the second world war still had an influence on currency seen in countries all over the world. The world map has changed a lot since then, particularly with the addition of countries which formed part of Russia. European countries' borders changed as the result of the Yugoslavian conflict. The banknote world map today looks different, although in some countries conversely the images are remarkably similar.
